About this property

Welcome to Wuksachi Lodge

Wuksachi Lodge is a mountain retreat situated within the scenic Sequoia National Park, offering relaxed accommodations surrounded by forest landscapes. The property features rooms housed in multiple buildings constructed from stone and cedar, emphasizing a woodsy, rustic atmosphere. Guests appreciate the cozy and clean rooms, though some note that certain appliances could benefit from updates.

The lodge provides a restaurant known as The Peaks Restaurant, which offers American cuisine paired with views of the surrounding forest. Although food quality is generally praised, some guests report that service can be inconsistent due to staffing challenges typical of remote locations. A gift shop is also available on-site for convenience.

Conveniently positioned 4.4 miles from the General Sherman Tree and close to other park attractions like The Congress Trail and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, the lodge is ideal for visitors focused on outdoor activities and nature exploration. Parking is usually accessible, but guests should be prepared for walking or driving between the rooms and main lodge, especially in adverse weather conditions.

The lodge operates on a check-in time of 16:00 and check-out by 11:00. It welcomes a diverse range of travelers and is noted to be LGBTQ+ friendly. While pricing is on the higher side, this reflects its unique location and limited nearby alternatives. The friendly staff contribute positively to the stay, despite some remarks about room heating and accessibility limitations such as the absence of elevators.

We didn't realize the rooms were in different buildings than the lodge/restaurant, which really only mattered because the snow made the walk/drive harder than it needed to be. Everything else was great. Good food. Go early so you're not stuck in line to drive to the mountain.

This location is fantastic for all the trails and scenic spots. We visited on New Year’s Eve, and it was a wonderful way to ring in the new year. The lodge room and facilities are clean and comfortable. The beds are cozy, and the heater works perfectly. The lodge staff is friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the tea and pizza time at the lodge after our morning hikes. We’re planning to return during spring break.

We really enjoyed our stay, and we can’t wait to go back! The location really is unique, you can’t compete with being so close to the main attractions of the park. It allowed us to beat the crowds and enjoy the beauty in peace. Saw the sunrise over the mountains. The service was great. I really am so pleased with how the hotel, and Holly especially, worked with us when worse than anticipated weather forced us to change our plans. The rooms were clean, but some appliances could use an update/repair. Thanks!

The staff are fantastic and very kind. Be careful, the weather conditions change at a moment's notice. Very pricey but what can you do since it's the only place in town. That's probably why the parking lot was empty. No way these rooms accommodate five people. There's no elevators so hope they don't put you on the third floor. The heating in the room will dry out your sinuses quicker than the desert. They have a ceiling fan and other floor fans for your use. It's nice that they have filtered water and ice available. Play do a great job of plowing the snow from the parking lot. The restaurant is nice. Not sure why the management company uses towels made in Pakistan. The management company, Delaware North, has a monopoly on most national parks in the USA. Someone should look into this.

Cool rustic vibe and awesome location. Parking was not an issue for us, but we did need to carry our bags up one flight of stairs. The front desk offered for staff to help if needed (we didn’t need it). We ate at the restaurant twice (lunch and breakfast) and also had a pizza from the pizza kitchen. All food was much better quality than expected, which was a wonderful surprise! The bar area was nice too. The servers were just “ok”. Not very friendly, but our orders were correct and the food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. It’s probably very challenging to get quality servers, especially in such a remote area, so we cut them some slack for this reason. A couple of extra comments: the bees were a nuisance on the deck, so we chose to eat our pizza inside. The outdoor fire pits were amazing. The window fan can easily be removed if you want to fully close the window in your room Overall a great experience!

It's not a super fancy or luxury lodge but also not run down or anything like that. Its cozy, clean and had everything my family and I needed. It was suppose to be six of us in the large deluxe room but it ended up being 5 of us, last minute. The sofa bed would be a bit tight for two large adults but it was just the right size for two smaller adults. The location was perfect for hiking trails and the staff was very friendly too. I'd definitely come back with my friends and family very soon!

One of the loveliest locations for a lodge. We enjoyed our two nights here. Clean. Views can’t be beat. And many options for fun in nature very close by. The only complaint is food options are limited but you’re in a national park. The restaurant was fantastic but it was the only one nearby in December.
